Go digital

You are probably aware that digital printing provides high quality labels that rival lithographic printing, excellent print-to-print registration and exact replication – from the first label in your run, to the last. But aside from the quality of digital printing, there are many ways it makes economic sense.
Digital printing provides faster print speeds and reduced lead times than traditional printing methods. There are no plate prep charges when you choose digital printing,
and you have the option to combine multiple same-size label varieties or designs to achieve a lower overall unit label price point.
Windmill Labels offer options through digital printing not economically viable with lithographic printing. If you need labels printed with barcodes, sequential numbering or variable data – from serialization to full personalization for special occasions – digital is the choice that makes sense.
Digital technology accepts a wide variety of paper stocks and films. You can enhance your printed labels with foil stamping, embossing and consecutive numbering – for limited production vintage.
Digital printing’s versatility, speed and precision are key factors for our clients when they need high quality labels in medium quantities to runs as few as 500 labels at a time.

Unique shapes for your wine labels.

Using a unique shape for your wine label is one of the easiest ways you can differentiate your wine from your competitors. Whether you choose to create a unique shape, utilize cut-outs or have a circle shaped label instead of a rectangle, the design possibilities are endless.  Depending on what other design elements used in your label you can highlight certain themes or features.  The end result? Eye catching wine labels that stand out from the rest!

Wine labels: Design and material selection

One of the first things that might come to mind when thinking of your wine label design is probably the artwork. What style of font to use, photos, colors and even the shape. However using a unique material to print the labels is one of the coolest elements you can add to your label design. Printing on metallic paper adds an interesting element to your label design, while also being an affordable material option.
At Windmill Labels , we have the ability to customize every aspect of your wine label — from color, texture, shape and even material. Our printing capabilities allow us to print on many types of material, including metallic papers, antique  papers, textured finishes etc.

We are on the move.... watch this space!

We hope to be able to move into our new label manufacturing facility next Spring and work has begun on the demolition of Avtech House which currently occupies the site on Mckenzie Industrial Estate next to our current home.
Windmill have operated from McKenzie I.E. since 1990 & the plan is to house all tape production in the existing unit and bring all the label making under one roof in the new building. This means the eventual closure of our digital facility in Congleton & the merger of operations in Stockport.
The new facility occupies 15,000 sq ft and is being developed to suit our lean manufacturing model.  We believe this factory will be the most modern and efficient label production facility in the UK & will help in greatly improving productivity.
In other news we have recently gained FSC certification which means we can now offer FSC approved papers across a range of substrates including self adhesive labelstock, gummed and PE coated paper. We believe that the environmental benefits will help foster growth in these markets  as more and more major retailers look to source packaging products from FSC certified sources.
